Welcome to the Chinese Politics Workshop
at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
The Chinese Politics Workshop is a forum for the presentation of ongoing work focusing on Chinese politics (working papers, dissertation proposals and chapters) by University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate students and University of Wisconsin-Madison and external faculty in a rigorous and critical environment. There are two general formats available.
1) A graduate student discusses the work of another graduate student or faculty member for about 15 to 20 minutes, followed by a response from the author and open discussion among the participants.
2) A graduate student may present his or her own work and request direct feedback from the group.
There are no formal presentations. Papers are made available to participants one week in advance of the workshop.
The workshop generally meets on Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. In addition, some presenters will be available to meet with graduate students and faculty, individually or in small groups, before or after the workshop to discuss research.
Graduate students and faculty who are interested in participating in the workshop or who would like to meet with the presenter should contact Dominic DeSapio, the workshop's Graduate Student Coordinator, at desapio@wisc.edu.
