Washington DC Summer Internship and Research Program

2011 UW-Madison Washington D.C. Summer Program participants

Each summer, the Political Science Department sends a select group of undergraduates to Washington D.C. for eight intensive weeks where they intern in offices all around the city during the day and attend classes in the evenings for university credit.

The program is a unique opportunity for students interested in studying first hand the workings of Washington, D.C. or considering a future career in government.

A total of four credits are available for participation in the program (one credit for a preparatory course to be taken in the spring prior to the start of the program and three credits are awarded for coursework done during the summer session in Washington D.C.).

A small number of scholarship are also available to help students with financial needs to participate in the program.

Applications are now being accepted for summer 2012.

Application deadline: Monday, 31 October, 2011.
