I am a P.h.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research and teaching interests lie in political communication, political behavior, media effects, political psychology, and elections, with emphasis on the intermediary role of the media and the evolving effects of the increasing diversity of publicly available information on the functioning of democratic government.
In my dissertation I explore cognitive responses to biased news and investigate the causal effects of partisan news media on the public distribution of political information, the decision to participate in politics, and the degree of ideological constraint and polarization in society.
