Scott Gehlbach is Professor of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He is also currently Visiting Professor at Harvard University, Senior Fellow at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University, and Senior Research Fellow at the International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development at the Higher School of Economics, Moscow. He is a research associate of the Centre for Economic and Financial Research at the New Economic School in Moscow, where he spent the 2007-2008 academic year as a Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad Fellow. A specialist in the political economy of postcommunist states, Professor Gehlbach is the author of numerous articles in top journals, including the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, and the Journal of Politics. He is also the author of Representation Through Taxation: Revenue, Politics, and Development in Postcommunist States (Cambridge Studies in Comparative Politics), which was awarded an honorable mention for the AAASS Davis Center Book Prize in Political and Social Studies. Professor Gehlbach received his Ph.D. in political science and economics from the University of California - Berkeley.
