Welcome to my webpage. I’m a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
I’m trained in comparative politics, methodology and international relations. My research interests are at the intersection of fiscal federalism, debt capital markets, and government fiscal performance. My dissertation analyzes variation in the market discipline of sub-central governments, including national members of the Eurozone. I am particularly interested in the role of intergovernmental institutions in driving this outcome, but I also consider the role of non-institutional factors, including sovereign risk and economic development.
I was raised in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada. I completed my B.A. in political science at St. Thomas University in New Brunswick, Canada in 2006 and my M.A. in political science at Wisconsin the following year. I will complete my doctoral studies in May, 2012.
